Over the course of their lives, women spend approximately 72 days removing unwanted body hair and spend over $10,000 on razors, waxing, and threading services. Laser hair removal uses a laser to attack and destroy hair follicles, preventing further growth, permanently.
At Solaris Laser & Skin Care, the staff uses the innovative Cynosure Vectus® Laser to help you to get rid of unwanted body hair. The Vectus has made laser hair removal faster and more effective than ever before. The Vectus works on most parts of your body, including:
Before treatment, you should avoid waxing or plucking your hair, although it is helpful to shave the treatment area the day prior to treatment. If necessary, your clinician trims any body hair.
During treatment, your beautician uses a handheld device to direct the laser at your hair follicles. In addition to the laser energy, the device also directs a blast of cooling air to protect your skin and reduce any discomfort you might experience from the laser. Most clients say the treatment doesn’t hurt but can get uncomfortable, especially in later sessions when the intensity of the laser is increased.
You should notice a reduction in body hair after just one treatment, but the experts at Solaris Laser & Skin Care highly recommend at least six treatments over four to six weeks to achieve the full results. Every client has a unique experience, though, so the results can’t be guaranteed in a specific number of treatments.
Some clients come in for touch-ups once a year to maintain a smooth, hair-free appearance. Hormonal changes, such as those caused by pregnancy or menopause, may trigger regrowth.
Laser hair removal is most effective on clients with fair skin and dark hair because the laser attacks the pigment. Treatment is less effective on blonde, red, or white hair. However, if you are fair, you can still become hair-free. Electrolysis services at Solaris Laser & Skin Care are equally effective on blonde and red hair as well as darker hair.
Pregnant or nursing women should not have laser hair removal treatment, and it is not recommended for anyone who has had Accutane treatment within the last 12 months.
